The race for NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2023-24 season is heating up, with several rookies standing out early in the season.

Early frontrunners for Rookie of the Year:

Derek Lively II (Dallas Mavericks): Lively has been a key contributor for the Mavericks, averaging 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 caps per game. He also showed his defensive potential with a couple of great caps.

Viktor Vumbanyama (San Antonio Spurs): Vumbanyama has been the most talked about rookie since LeBron James, and so far he hasn't disappointed. He is averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.3 caps per game. While he has struggled at times with foul trouble, he has shown amazing potential.
Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder): Holmgren has been a solid contributor for the Thunder, averaging 15 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.8 caps per game. He has also shown the ability to shoot from long range, hitting 62.5 percent of his three-point attempts.
It's early in the season, but all five rookies are expected to compete for the Rookie of the Year award. They all show the potential to be impact players in the NBA, and it will be exciting to see how they develop over the rest of the season.
